In recent years the number of internet stars has grown vastly and are a big part of many people's lives; whether that be an influence, helpful advice or pure entertainment. But how much do they earn? For example, YouTube megastar Pewdiepie earns a massive $12 million per year. But it's not just YouTube stars from over the pond receiving huge success: home-grown stars such as Zoella and KSI earn over $2 million per year. The viral stars how also expanded their brand by producing books , merchandise and documentaries just to name a few. The world is truly their oyster.
We asked some Year 7 and 9 students who their favourite YouTube stars are and why.
Faye from Year 9 said she loves Marcus Butler, Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee because their videos are always something that makes her laugh.
James from Year 7 said he loves The Sidemen because they're funny and he enjoys watching them
